Okay so, my friend gave me an old tube TV of his that used to belong to his dad since he knew I would put it to better use than he would. The reason this whole thing is happening is because the TV in question is one of those 90s crappy tiny TVs that only have a single coax port.
He didn't have anything that used coax to begin with so that's another good reason he gave it to me.
The main reason I wanted it in the first place though, was because I wanted to turn it into an oscilloscope.
And that's what I did.
It took a little work, but eventually I had found the right wire for the vertical whatever thing and unplugged it. Now I have my oscilloscope, but the thing is, remember the little tid bit about the TV only having a coax port? yeah even with my audio/video control receiver I still can't connect my turntable to the damn TV because a receiver doesn't have coax compatibility.
So I basically have 3 decisions.
1: I buy a whole coax modulator specifically for the purpose of this little project.
2: I buy a VCR which does have coax compatibility, meaning I can hook it up to my receiver and have a turntable or cd or cassette playing through the VCR and into the oscilloscope TV.
(Yeah in case you were wondering, I still haven't really worked out step 2 yet so it's a little confusing; and I also want an excuse to get a vcr.)
And 3: I just leave it sitting there for some other project later sometime maybe. (NOT PREFERABLE)
So idk, if anyone thinks there is a secret 4th or 5th or somethingth option that I don't know about please tell me about it please.
